Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)
The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) might be perfect for you! This visa allows international students who’ve completed at least 2 years of study in Australia to live and work there temporarily.
Graduate Work stream:
This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with qualifications that are relevant to specific occupations Australia needs. It lets you live, study and work in Australia temporarily.
Post-Study Work stream:
This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with a degree from an Australian institution. It lets you live, work and study in Australia, temporarily.
Second Post-Study Work stream (extension):
This visa is for holders of a Temporary Graduate visa (first Post-Study Work stream or Replacement stream) who graduated with a degree from an Australian institution located in a regional area. It lets you live, work and study in Australia, temporarily.
Visa Replacement stream:
This visa is for current and former Temporary Graduate visa holders who lost time on their original visa due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. It lets you live, work and study in Australia temporarily.
Eligibility Criteria
There are most important requirements that you should meet to be suitable for a partner visa
Need to be under 50 years of age
Hold a student visa within the last 6 months.
Have a recent qualification in a CRICOS-registered course.
Have a qualification relevant to an occupation on the skilled occupation list.
Have applied for a skills assessment in your nominated occupation on the skilled occupation list.
Have adequate health insurance for all applicants when applying.
Have an English language requirement.
Meet Health and character requirements.
Provide evidence you have applied for an AFP check

The age limit has been reduced from 50 to 35 years
A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with a minimum score of 5.5 for each component of the test (reading, writing, speaking and listening).
Hong Kong and UK Overseas (BNO) passport holders do not need to meet this minimum English language requirement. The IELTS standard for this group was set at 6.0 (or equivalent), with a minimum score of 5.0 for each part of the test (reading, writing, speaking and listening).
The test validity window for all Temporary Graduate visa applications decreases from three years to one year. Applicants must provide evidence that they have completed an English language test no more than one year immediately before the date of the visa application.
