This one-year intensive graduate diploma is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to become an effective teacher in early childhood education, educating infants, toddlers and young children, from birth to five years. Upon completion, you will be ready to begin a fulfilling career helping to shape children’s relationships with education, and a love of lifelong learning.

Assessments

Assessments are designed based on contemporary issues in Early Childhood Education (ECE) services, which enable you to understand the work requirements and prepare you as an effective educator within the ECE industry.

Contact Hours & study load

Full time study of this Diploma typically requires 30 hours study per week. There is a requirement of 60 days placement over the duration of this qualification.

Domestic students are able to study online and complete placements in regional Victoria or interstate.

English language requirements

To study this program you will need to complete one of the following English proficiency tests:

IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 7.0 (with no individual band below 6.5)

TOEFL (Internet Based Test – IBT): minimum overall score of 94 (with minimum of 19 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 20 in Speaking and 24 in Writing)
Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): minimum score of 65 (with no communication band less than 58)
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): minimum of 185 with no less than 176 in any component.
